Found an interesting “feature” in Data Management in the cloud this week and thought I would share.
Currently, I’m configuring Data Management to load data to 2 different Plan Types in PBCS (the PBCS application has 3 BSO Plan Types and 1 ASO). When the “Target Application” in Data Management was first configured, only one Plan Type, FinStmt, was initialized. The other Plan Types, CMargin and Wrkforce, were added later.
During the configuration, I was creating a Data Load Rule to load to the CMargin Plan Type, however, my dropdown only had one option: FinStmt.
In order for the other Plan Types to show up in this dropdown, I had to travel back to the Target Application option on the Setup tab. Press “Refresh Metadata” on the PBCS application.
This feature will refresh the metadata from the PBCS application, including initializing the Plan Types that were added later.
Back on my Data Load Rule, I can now select any Plan Type from the dropdown, including CMargin.
Send me any PBCS & Data Management questions and I’ll do my best to answer. Thanks for reading!

How to make integration between Oracle Fusion GL Cloud and PBCS? What setup step required in PBCS & Fusion cloud?
Hi Suresh,
It is my understanding that there is no way to directly connect Fusion & PBCS – but you have a few options:
1. Extract the data you need from Oracle Fusion into native Essbase file format, and load it into PBCS using EPMAutomate. This can be automated using Windows Scheduler or another IT job scheduler.
2. Extract the data you need from Oracle Fusion into a delimited file format, and load it into PBCS using EPMAutomate and Data Management. This allows you to add mappings, prefixes, etc. and exclude any segments that aren’t in PBCS but may be in the data file.
3. If you have FDMEE on-premise, there are direct connections available to connect directly to Oracle Fusion as your source application, and then load directly into PBCS as your target application. This also allows for adding mappings, prefixes, and dynamic scripting, similar to Data Management (but more options).
All 3 options have an on-premise component, however. Either a jump-box for EPMAutomate and data files, or an FDMEE installation (which would require separate licensing).
Let me know if you have any more questions.
